Application Deadline: June 30 (All applications after this due date will be considered for the following calendar year)
Purpose: The Miner Foundation supports community organizations, charities, and similar groups with projects within the State of Utah that provide direct benefit to children and or youth.
Application Process: All applicants (regardless of whether they are prior grantees) should submit an Online Letter of Inquiry. The request must contain: name of the organization, contact name, contact title, mailing address, phone, email, website, total amount requested and a brief statement describing the need for funds with enough information for the foundation to determine whether or not the application falls within its program areas. Requests submitted without an Online Letter of Inquiry will not be reviewed by the Foundation.
Eligible Applicants: Community organizations, charities, and similar groups and agencies are eligible for funds. Applicant organizations must have a valid Federal Tax ID Number and 501(c)(3) certification. Individuals are not eligible.
Eligible Grants: Grants must be of direct benefit to children or youth of the State of Utah, in the development of their talents, self- esteem, ingenuity, work ethic, education or health. Use of funds must be completed by the end of your organizations accounting year.
Match Requirements: No matching funds are required.
Funds Disbursement: Funds are disbursed after the grant has been approved by the Foundation Board of Directors and Grant Agreement has been countersigned by an authorized agent of the requesting organization.
Foundation Acknowledgement: Any promotional materials may mention that the organization’s programs are made possible with a grant from the Miner Foundation commensurate with the Foundation’s level of financial support and may include the Miner Foundation logo.
Award Criteria: Awards will be made to the most qualified applicants based on criteria including, but not limited to: potential benefit to children or youth, quality of work plan and budget and completeness of application. The total number of awards is dependent on the amount of requests and availabilty of funding.
Process: Decisions will be made when yearly funds are made available. All applicants will be informed via email or telephone of the decision. Should your application be selected you will be informed if additional information is required and your organization will be required to enter into a formal agreement with The Miner Foundation. A written report of the use of funds will be required.
